My Everyday Pedal

By: on 13 March 2025
I've had this for years, I bought it long before I had heard of Artist (Now I have nine artist guitars and two basses). Every day I use this box. I mostly use it for effects - I can't seem to get the hang of looping - and I love the simplicity of just up and down through the tones. I have a practice setlist of about 25 songs and I just play straight through with not much gap between songs, so being able to quickly get the sound I want is essential. I mainly use the sounds 1A - clean with with a little modulation, 1B - highly driven, 3B - basically Brian May mode, 4A - clean compressed, 4B which is "Vintage Crunch", I use that for 70s rock - T. Rex, Free and 6A Dynamic strings which is sort of a dynamic Wah. The only song I've had issues with is Living on a Prayer which needs me to switch between a talkbox sound and 1B and they are too far apart, the answer is tone called "Jet Gainer", making everything sound like it's played with a wah in the engine of a 747 which works for that song. What I have not done is ever read the manual, so I just downloaded it, and it's bloody complex but editing the sounds looks like fun. My setup is Gnosis 6, Darkfire or LP59 into the MX100, into an Artist SCURU 5W amp, into Artist Superlux headphones as I practice at 5am. I've never sounded better and you can literally buy that whole rig in one place. Might need to find a buyer for my drawer full of pedals.
