Does the job .....

I had an unusual reason for buying this Music Nomad lubricant — and most guitarists probably won’t relate to that reason — but I’m writing this review to illustrate the excellent service level consistently provided by Artist Guitars. One of my basses is a U-bass with polyurethane/rubber strings, which feel somewhat “sticky’ when sliding — and, because I play with a pick, the pick itself tends to “drag” momentarily on the strings, which is annoying when I’m used to smooth pick movement on my “normal” basses (5-string/6-string). So, I wondered whether this product might help in that regard, and decided to email AG about it, to determine whether the lubricant would play nicely with the rubber strings (or even damage them). To be frank, I didn’t really expect much response beyond perhaps: “We have no idea about its usage on rubber strings”, but, to my surprise, I had an answer within 15 minutes, confirming that (a) yes, the lubricant can be used on rubber, and (b) it would reduce friction. And, in short, they were right — a quick application to the U-bass strings, and they feel as smooth as flatwounds. So, yet again, AG proves themselves the best customer service guitar shop in the country! ….. My only reservation re this lubricant is that the nature of the applicator is such that you can have no idea how much of the liquid is left (it’s not like it’s a bottle where you can see the level), so I can’t guess how many applications you might get for your money, but time will tell. Nevertheless, I’ve given it 5 stars, because it does the job as advertised.
