Caline CP507 Mariana Modulated Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal

The Mariana Trench is the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean – a world that has yet to be explored and of which we know little about – less than we know about outer space. The Mariana crams 7 ‘out of this world’ modulated reverbs into one compact pedal offering amazing value for money and endless potential.

With three independent controls affecting each of the seven presets, there is literally no end to the possibilities. An amazingly versatile tool to create sonic soundscapes the like of which you have only dreamed of.

Presets:

  • The Abyss
A deep cavernous reverb with a long decay and a subtle, slow modulation for epic soundscapes.

  • Hot Springs
Spring reverb with hidden depths and a long decay.

  • The Bends
Dark, haunting phase and vibrato effects especially when running into delay - sonic landscapes as dark as the sea at 10,000 fathoms!

  • Propeller
A versatile organic sounding tremolo reverb that takes you from lightly pulsating to deeply throbbing tones.

  • The Deep
A lush flanger and reverb combination for ambient swells and shimmering chords.

  • Mermaids
Haunting and dissonant modulation designed to replicate the song of the mermaid: If you’re looking for something unique, unusual and striking, this is the sound for you!

  • The Kraken
Drown in a pitch-shifting reverb with endless possibilities. The Kraken is hard to tame, but when dialled in it delivers endless joy.

Once again Artist delivers (excuse the pun) a magnificent top of the line effects pedal. I have the Wonderland as well and with the Marianna and others, I create a wall of ambient soundscapes sound similar to Robin Guthrie's sound in the Cocteau Twins and with some more experimentation with placement and addition of pedals, I can get a shoegaze sound as well. Outstanding! Some pay exorbitant prices to recreate those sounds, but one can do this on a more limited budget thanks to Artist Guitars who supply great quality for a great price! Thank you, Artist, guitars, for your impeccable customer service and fair prices.

Tales from the deep

Bought this pedal to add to already ample reverb pedal list. The nautical theme was a big seller for me and this pedal delivers! The kraken in particular sound to me exactly like a ships organ. Love playing around with this pedal

Caline Mariana

I came across this pedal searching for a decent ambient reverb, something that was easy to dial up for a decent sound without having to delve through a mine field of buried digital menus. I watched a few review videos which didn't really light me up but there was the odd one or two that seemed to get the odd good sound out of it. So I figured I'd take the plunge considering the low cost. I already have a few mid price point reverbs and also got rid of a high end one made by a major manufacturer that was nigh impossible to simply get a good sound out of without having tio dig deep into stuff I'm really not that interested in. I will tell you there is not a bad preset on this thing, you just have to tweak it, and it doesn't require hours of delving through an online manual. It's not a stock reverb, this thing is for anbient sounds. I'm running a wet/dry stereo rig and it sounds huge. You're playing music in minutes not trying to understand some ridiculous manual just to figure out how to change something simple. Artist Guitars service was impeccable, unfortunately Australia Post's was not. But couriers are not an option in rural Australia. A ton of fun and dirt cheap on the scale of things. Do yourself a favour!

Experimental Reverb galore

For those venturing into pedals and chasing a perfect reverb without busting the bank, this is the pedal for you. Not only a normal reverb but can opt for everything else under the sun, pitch shifts, shimmering decay, phaser and trem/vibrato. What more could you want in a reverb pedal that costs under $100. Genuinely can spend hours just playing around with all the settings and tones you can get out of this bad boy.

Modulation to the Max

This reverb is a strange beast. If you want lovely, clean sounding 'verb I'd look elsewhere. Not to say it's a bad pedal, it's just quite weird. It can be a bit finicky to dial in the sound you want but by golly does it sound nice. There's swell type verb, spring and octavy (But not a full octave up/down), verb, chorus and a warbly underwater sound. Uses the same chip as the EQD rainbow machine (FV1) and, with the right settings gets pretty close. Fantastic for ambient noodling, as soon as I chucked it on the board I spent an hour pretending to be in a post-rock band. If you're looking for some spice for your board I reckon this one's a cracker. Very happy, cheers!
