Brilliant guitar

I really like the weight with this instrument. The pickups are so versatile, having coil split. The finish is excellent. I recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for a Telecaster style guitar.

The Bullbucker pick ups are so punchy.Very well made for the price and nice finish also.Dont think i will need to make any adjustments to it..Just plugged in and played.I mainly use my Fender Strat which is great but wanted something with a ballsier sound without getting a Les Paul style as i love the look of a Telecaster.Have bought many items over the years from Artist and this is an awesome guitar.Would Gig with this!

By: Lewis on 23 April 2023I shouldn't have been surprised at the quality of this absolute beast of a guitar due to my previously purchased bass from Artist being an absolute workhorse but Im genuinely stunned by every little feature! Overall build quality is amazing, locking tuners work like a charm, humbuckers have a lovely warmth to them and the coil split makes changing up the sound so easy. Can't recommend this guitar enough for both beginners and seasoned players alike. If you're looking for a really inexpensive guitar that can do it all, definitely give this a look! Only negative is its a little on the heavy side but once you get used to it, it really isn't an issue.

3 months of owning and it just gets better

When it arrived it was flawless, I usually change the string’s straight away when I buy a new guitar but no need they were fine. Checked the setup and with a slight tweak of the truss Rod it has super low action with no buzz. This Telecaster plays just as well as my $2500 USA Custom Shop Telecaster. Pros: Stunning guitar, amazing neck and fretwork, pickups have heaps of grunt, I would gig with this axe anytime, fast neck no lacquer to slow you down, no fret sprout. Plays really well 10/10. Cons: it’s a heavy guitar and I have a neck injury so I play it sat down with no issues. I might change the volume control to a 500k linear pot, and put a treble bleed kit in, that is only because I play a certain way. No real problems great bit of gear grab one. I am now saving up for the new lighter Les Paul I cannot wait to get my hands on one of them. I will review it when I do. Thanks Ian great guitar

Beautiful guitar
By: Roland on 1 April 2023Bought it after seeing the Peter Northcote video on YouTube, the playing and sound was just incredible! I am very happy with the guitar, the neck especially is a real joy to hold and play. Satin finish on the back of the neck is so smooth and I find myself playing this guitar very often. It’s on par with guitars that are probably close to 5 times the price or more. Just awesome. I waited 3 months before posting this review so that I had some mileage on the guitar first and it has been a fun and rewarding time. The bullbucker pick ups sound rich and excellent, can coil split, has locking tuners and the finish is just beautiful. My only one small gripe when I first got it was that a couple of the frets needed a bit of polish, which I fixed in a whole 5 mins during a string change. Great guitar, highly recommended.

The fit and finish was flawless, the delivery was very quick, and the communication was wonderful. I notified the staff at Artist with my dilemma and they were great. Bargain of the century!
By: Ross Claughton on 23 January 2023This is a quality version of the Telecaster. I got mine for the special price of $200 (!) AUD but I would have happily paid much more! It looks fantastic and I couldn't find a single flaw in the fit and finish department. Feels very solid and comfortable to play. I hardly notice it's substantial when I play it as I'm too busy enjoying the feel of the maple neck and the versatility of the bullbucker pickups. I am stoked to own a guitar with an American ash body, coil-splitting, locking tuners and a bone nut at such a low price. I don't like to own too many guitars but it will be hard to resist the urge to buy another Artist instrument as they all seem to be of equally high quality and amazing value for money.

TC59 Tele
By: Cable on 22 January 2023One of my students have a couple of your guitars which I've been impressed with. Enough so that I bought the TC59 for my son, and it's quickly become my go to! If I'd paid $700-$900 for this guitar I wouldn't be disappointed. Playability and build quality are amazing at this price, and the neck looks killer. Pickups sound great, they do dirty to clean surprisingly well and splitting to single coils gives a typical tele sound. Very versatile pickups. I'd read a few reviews stating the guitar was heavy. I haven't weighed it but it's no heavier than some of my Fender teles. There's a bit of string binding on the string trees noticeable as you tune it, but once in tune it's fine. I'm confident I can sort that when I restring it. Thoroughly impressed, would highly recommend!

Excellent Value
By: Mark Brown on 18 January 2023This was my second TC59 purchased from artist guitars this year. Given this is a sub-$300 guitar it represents excellent value. Most importantly for me, once the action was lowered and the strings replaced, its playabilty was great. The neck has a lovely feel especially towards the nut. It sounds is good to.....maybe the bullbuckers lack a little character clean but with some distortion the guitar performs well. Tuning stability, so far, has been excellent. The locking tuners are most welcome. The three way switch is very solid...maybe the volume and tone controls are a little cheap...but for this price?!!!!!!! It's a heavy guitar but I really like it now. The whole rig comes across as being a tough unit. I really like that - it feels like a substantial guitar in the hand. I play the TC59 more than my MIF Telecaster...no its not a better guitar....but to me its more fun. Grab one. Highly recommended. Thanks Artist Guitars!

Hard To Pass Up
By: Sam on 18 January 2023Simply put its a very good instrument, period. The neck and its finish are standout. The pickups are easily fine for my classic rock type needs (all I test for). Delivered in great condition with nothing to do other than play. Everything feels v robust apart from the switch in comparison. No biggie as easily replaceable for anyone ever using it often and long enough to test it.

Delicious Tele
By: todd cuthbertson on 18 January 2023From the moment I pulled off the bubble wrap I was immersed in wonder. I loved the paint job it is just perfection. The burst transition is so smooth and well done. The transparency showing the timber grain in the body along with the wet look gloss over the top looks deep enough to dive into. Holding the neck - it just begged to be played, it is smooth to run your hands along. The frets are nice and level and set up was great out of the box. Great sustain and resonance through the body. The sounds that the pickups produce would please the fussiest of ears. Super versatile across the genres too. Thanks for feeding my obsession Artist Guitars.

I have been playing for 50 years, already own a vintage fender strat, a 70s japanese les paul, and a gretsch, and this is the loudest guitar with the best tone I have ever owned. Everything about it is beautiful. only downside is the weight.

By: Michael Haller on 6 January 2023I received my Telecaster HH a couple of days ago. I took it straight to my workshop to set her up and check her out. This guitar is remarkable and without a doubt the quality control is as good as my Fender Telecasters. I couldn’t find a blemish or anything negative to comment on. So I checked the relief which was spot on, then the string height at the 12th string it was 1.5mm across the fingerboard, pickup heights fine, then the intonation was spot on. The strings feel good from a guess I would say they are 10-46. Might put them down to Ernie Ball 9.5s or 9s as I love bending. There is a slight bit of fret sprout which will take next to no time to fix and the frets need a good polish so when the strings need replacing I will take care of that. Just as I had finished checking her over a friend came over I had it hooked up to my VOXAC15C1 with a hot cake overdrive pedal. John is a guru of playing long improvised solos it sounded great when he had finished he handed it back to me. He asked what model it was I told him it was a USA Fender Modern Players Telecaster that cost $2400. His comment was super nice guitar. He couldn’t believe it when I showed him it was an Artist Telecaster he was blown away. Thanks for this 10/10 guitar it rocks.

Well Done
By: James on 30 December 2022Great looking. Some cost cutting to get to the price on the switch and some metals, but very well thought through. Everything works fine. The neck stands out as particularly comfortable and classy, full stop. Beautifully boxed and arrived early with as perfect a set up as I have ever seen at any price. Well done to Hank. I might end up lowering half a tad but it's any factory spec perfection. Even the strings mirror the exactly 12" radius and intonation also perfect out of the box. Why play with that I thought. Short of really going on the road hard for work I see no reason to consider changing anything. One minor thing: the high e string was ever so v slightly plinking when tuning. Half a kiss of a nut file saw perfect and I would have easily missed that. May have corrected itself as so slight but file handy, so did it. Pickups are fine. $200 more it would be 4 stars but at this price 5 easy. I almost see room for Artist to sell switch/pot/ plate upgrade type kits. All it feels like it needs to really robustly hit the road. The rest of us fine as is.

I picked mine up just after xmas on sale for $199 AUD which is exceptional value. The finish is flawless, the Bullbuckers have an awesome tone and sound great through my Marshall. Locking tuners at this price point is unheard of. Yes it is a heavy guitar but the weight is something that was something I was looking for because I own a few Les Pauls and the thing I have never liked about Tele's and Strats is their light weight because to me they feel flimsy. I mainly bought this guitar to be something to just keep for the lounge room and not be too worried about it but the quality is so good that I will be buying a case for it. I have gone over the guitar and can't find any fault in the finish and my only nit picks would be the action was a bit high and the plain strings were a bit corroded, both of those were fixed in minutes and to be fair none of the "high end" guitars I own came set up straight out of the box. I can honestly say that this will definitely not be the last Artist guitar I buy.

Just fantastic
By: Shane on 19 November 2022I own several Fender guitars as well as other quality brands and I was looking for a hard tail to use in open tunning and didn't want to spend a heap on another 'brand name' guitar. The guitar was delivered in a few days and I can't believe the quality for the money. The finish is as good as a big brand name and the hardware is good quality too. Playability and sound quality are what you would expect from a guitar three or four times the price. It is a bit on the heavy side but this doesn't worry me and I love the sunburst. Simply great value for money!

Best value in town
By: Michael Ashmore on 23 February 2022I recently bought an Artist TC59TSB guitar online. First surprise, the guitar arrived in 4 days in spite of the pandemic, so off to a good start. Second surprise, this guitar is heavy! The American swamp ash body weighs a lot, it's a big chunk of wood. Third surprise, them there Bull Bucker pickups. They sound great, just enough snarl and bite to do the job and they sweeten up nicely when you roll off the volume a little and you can also tap the coils if you're looking for a single coil sound. A very broad range of tonal options at your fingertips. Over all, the quality of the finish is very good. This guitar has a bridge with 6 independent saddles so you can get the intonation spot on. A great guitar for the price, without a doubt the best bang for the buck guitar in my collection. My sincere thanks to the crew at Artist Guitars for this great guitar.

Amazing Value

This is my second favourite guitar after my Fender am pro 2 strat, the playability and action is ready to go out of the box. Everything screams quality. Only down side is the weight, but I use this sitting down to record cos it sounds that good. Pros: neck, finish, playability Cons: weight, sometimes coilsplitting can affect output volume. But overall so pleased, artist is my new favourite music store! I don't doubt anything I buy from them as I know it is quality even though it costs a fraction of the other brands.

TC59 Sunburst Guitar
By: Pete Cmiel on 23 January 2022Great product and fantastic service from Artist guitars. Well packaged and no damage or issues upon removing from box after transport. Guitar is quite weighty, mine comes in at 4.5kg but I’m not fussed by it. Plays well straight out of the box, I Iove the flatter profile neck, great to play and the satin finish on the neck does not get “clingy” as do some of the gloss finish necks after a bit of playing. Humbuckers are great and the ability to split coil is a bonus. As folks have mentioned a bit of attention to adjust the intonation but that’s and easy fix. Great guitar, sounds awesome, super finish and fantastic value for money. I’ll definitely matching it with the Tweedtone 20 amp in the near future.

Shoulder killer
By: Steve Ledger on 22 October 2021Beautiful instrument, I really like the 'burst colours and Swamp Ash grain. Pups are great, not a whole lot of split coil difference (to my ear) but it is there. Neck feels great, intonation out of the box was flat on E/A/D - easy fix. But I have to mention the weight. Mine weighs in at 4.9Kilos and even with a padded strap kills my should after 15 minutes. Best as a sit-down player... The locking tuners have one downside, they get in the way of hanging in the Hercules wall hanger, so this has to sit in the floor stand. Over all I give it a 10/10 for value. Oh, and delivery was a week ahead of ETA! (To FNQ)

By: Simon on 27 January 2021What a great guitar, never mind the fact it costs less than $300. I had read other reviews and thought I’d give one a try. I would have no hesitation doing any gig with this guitar as it came from the factory. When I could be bothered, I will lower the action at the nut a little, but it’s perfectly playable as it is. My only comments, which are not really criticisms are. It is a fair old lump of wood, I think it’s heavier than any other guitar I own. Given the weight, I probably wouldn’t want to wear it for more than a 40 minute set at a time. The maple neck wood is not the nicest piece of maple I’ve ever seen, it doesn’t have any knots, it’s just a bit grainy. The bridge saddles sit very high, the string action at the 12th fret is exactly how I like it though, so I’m not sure if this was intentional, but I may look at changing the neck angle at some stage, just to lower the saddles closer to the bridge. The pickups are fantastic, the coil split is good too, the locking machine heads work as expected, it holds tune very well and the fret work I can’t find fault with. Wether you’re an experienced player or a complete beginner, I definitely recommend this guitar.

By: Liam on 17 December 2020I was looking for an old tele to mess around with for a doom project but ordered one of these one night after a few beers.. best decision I've made all year. Setup out of the box was pretty well spot on. No defects which one might expect for the price point. Neck is straight & smooth, fair variety of tones available from the pick-ups which clean up nicely with the volume nob. I've set it up in A standard with 74-18 gauge strings, adjustments were easy, locking tuners are a bonus. It's heavy as a brick sh*t house and sounds equally massive.

By: mike johnstone on 17 December 2020Well what can i say, this is absolutely without fault, the most astounding, affordable, playable & and i will add, "Collectable" electric guitar i have ever had the privilage to own & play. Thankyou to all the people at artist who were directly involved in the designe & production of this T59 telecaster electric guitar, (the fact that it was designed by Australian luthiers & guitar company was the reason i researched this product in the first place). after a growling wait for this guitar to arrive i was a little hesitant about getting it out of the box due to my experience in online purchases were what you see in print is not always what you get. To my astonishment this guitar looked mint as i opened the box that was quite strong and packed ever so well, it even had with a styrene foam neck support. The paint work on the guitar was flawless with marvelous reflections across the stunning gloss finish. The chrome hardware was sparkling as i held the guitar an put my hands on the neck which felt amazingly like a guitar 10 times the price, magic. And magic is what happened as i plugged in to my Marshall through a boss gt1 effects processor!!!. this guitar has no home, like a well distinguished traveler it can blend & bend to any style of playing with ease and comfort to boot, weather the duel patent bullbuckers roar or the split coil vintage sounds of yesteryear, to the new tele style bridge (no edges to annoy your playing), or the awesome feel vintage neck that oozes quality & comfort of a super high end guitar (not naming any names). summing up i hav been playing for 35 years in band & duos and have had owned strats, Tele's, PRS, & les pauls & more. This is going to be my number 1 from now on!!!. "Do yourself a favor" as ozzie as that sounds and just buy one.

Seriously underpriced
By: Anonymous on 13 December 2020Thanks to Artist I own this guitar, and lemme tell you what an absolute banger it is. We all know these guitars are heavy, so let's skip that part as you can now purchase the hollow body version instead (get yourself on the waiting list/preorder). I'm going to compare with a lot of my other guitars for review purposes alone. My other Telecasters have single coils and have also been hot-rodded but this guitar, at the current price of under $300AUD, is in absolutely no need of any upgrades. The tuners are suspiciously similar to the Gotoh locking tuners on my LTD Deluxe MH1000. The pickups possibly have a little bit more mid range character than the SD Sentient/Nazgul set and could easily cover all genres including metal. The hardware is an absolute chonkfest and probably contributes to the weight but is of astounding quality. Fat control plate, heavy knobs, the bridge is dual top load and string-through body so if you want a brighter sound, load from the top. The neck is worth the price of entry alone and I would buy them to put on other guitars if they were sold separately. As much as I love my hot-rod Affinity Tele, the TC59 is better value. And as much as I love my Player Series Tele, it's not as versatile as this one is. The one single tiny thing I'm not digging on this guitar is the string tree for the D and G string- it's a little wide and causes the strings to bend outward from each other behind the nut. Doesn't affect anything except my need for aesthetics and straight lines. In summary, we all already knew this guitar is a giant killer and now it comes in two flavours and three colours. So either take your pick or catch them all. Can't wait to see what the evolution of the Artist T-style guitar brings next...
Bloo...... Err Damn Nice Guitar
By: Anonymous on 9 December 2020Hi guys, I finally got my mits on the TS59TSB Today, after a small wait.... Well I am not disappointed with this baby. Looks very nice, on the lighter area of the face the grain shows through which makes it just that bit nicer than it would if were a solid colour. Sound.... damn fine, the pickups are a dream splitting makes no difference for hum/ buzz... There is none that I can hear in either setup. Now, the weight, I have heard some reviews that comment on the weight and about it being a heavy blighter, I weighed it here on my scales and it came in at about 4.7 kilos, compared with the ST62 Vintage at 3.3 kilos. It may make a difference to some, but hey, it is worth it. Once again, Artist Guitars have produced a fine quality product, like always. This is the 8th guitar I have purchased from Artist, and I am not disappoint with the Quality, workmanship, sound and looks of any of them. Keep up the great work Artist Guitars **********

By: alan on 9 October 2020Hi all i thought i would write a review for this guitar to let people know how good it is,,,i dont have the sunburst but have the natural wood one from the previous batch,and it is one of my favorite guitars,,,the humbuckers are so clean and growl when you need them,,the single coil sound is sweet as can be and certainly better than some i have heard,,it is a bit heavy but that adds to the sustain and the neck is just terrific,,,so if your thinking about one and thought no one has said anything positive check out the reviews for the natural finished one and you will see plenty of good reviews....great guitar cheers
