Artist DELTA2EQ Solid Wood OM Size Acoustic Electric Guitar & Hard Case

Featuring a close-grained solid Sitka spruce top with a back and sides made of beautifully figured solid Mahogany, the Artist Delta2EQ balances bright, sharp top-end tones with a deep, rich bass response, perfect for a strum down by the railroad tracks (or wherever else the blues may catch you!)

Designed with the scalloped "X" bracing pioneered by pre-war Martins, the lowered mass of the bracing allows the Delta2EQ's Sitka spruce top to "move" in natural synergy with a player's attack. This produces both increased volume, and an enhanced bass and low-mid response; a vintage-inspired sound more akin to the guitar tones of Robert Johnson and Son House than more modern acoustic players.

While the Delta2 retains many of the traditional characteristics of Artist's popular "OM" series, the body shape lies somewhere between an "OM" and the more bluesy "OOO" guitars. With bass response in mind, we designed the Delta2EQ with a noticeably deeper body than either of the aforementioned, measuring 4 inches at the upper bout and 4 /16 inches at the lower bout.

Breaking from the vintage theme, the Delta2EQ also features the ultra-compact Fishman Ink Preamp. Built on the heritage of classic Fishman preamp electronics, the Fishman Ink offers a wide range of features, including an attractive push-to-tune LCD tuner, 4-band EQ and a newly designed Body Sensor.

With an Ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and compensated saddle, and a set of ultra-reliable high-ratio vintage machine heads rounding out the litany of high-end appointments on this guitar, the Delta2EQ may be perfect for playing the Mississippi blues, but you'll be hard-pressed to do so without a smile on your face...

Fantastic Guitar

By: on 20 December 2023
Guitar arrived at my door in great condition...flawless. Quality of workmanship was evident from the first look. I found it very comfortable to play and the guitar is very sensitive to the nuances of my playing, very expressive. This guitar has good balanced tone full of clarity. The guitar looks fantastic and thier is no question that this is made and designed to be a professional instrument. I will be using this guitar as my go to gigging guitar. I will be purchasing another when I am able in order to have a second quality guitar in a different tuning when playing live. I have had the pleasure of Playing many very expensive guitars of different brands over my time but this one inspires me to play and perform better than any of the others have. This Guitar is the business and will not disappoint.

Delta2eq guitar

A lot of guitar for the money I paid. This was a customer return but it shows zero signs of being used. A very beautiful instrument and may I complement the craftsmen and women who built it. An understated and tasteful disign, This guitar smells like a forest, the aroma of mahogany is quite wonderful. As expected of a mahogany guitar it has a focused woody tone which is even and balanced . The intonation is very good. The spruce soundboard is tight grained with noticeable silking. I am very happy with the sound and expect it to improve further with time. Judging by the weight it is slightly overbuilt which I prefer as I know when the timber dries out it will not fall apart. The ebony fretboard is dark, the frets may need a little attention but as I am in Qld the timber may swell and remedy this. The neck is substantial but I like big chunky necks with a 47mm nut. If I could change one thing I would increase the nut from 44-5 to 47mm. I have not tried the pickup yet so I can't give an opinionon on it. This is a great instrument which would have cost me quite a lot more if I had walked into my local music shop and walked out with it. So my compements to all at Artist Guitars.

Decent Guitar

Purchased whilst on sale $499 including case which was an excellent deal. Guitar looks great and plays well. It stays in tuner and looks classy. One disappointing aspect is the fret edges are quite sharp. Not terrible but hoping they don’t get worse over time or I will have to look at filing the edges down or taking it to a repair shop. Overall though a good purchase.

Solid Guitar

Plays, looks, sounds and feels good. Compares very well to even guitars $800 - $1000; good value. Did have to apply some lubricant intially for it to stay tune but aside from that it is really a joy to play. Solid

Blown Away

Just received my Delta2EQ and have to ask, How do you do it for the price? It is an incredible guitar. Looks beautiful, sounds great and plays smoothly, what else could you want? I was a bit dubious when I bought it but so thankful now I took the risk. Thank you so much Artist Guitars, have run out of superlatives.

Quality allrounder at a fantastic price.

I've had this guitar for a couple of months now and before I start my review, I would like to point out I purchased it as a customer return. As I already own 2 solid wood Artist acoustics, (OM & Dreadnought) I bought this guitar as an all rounder to play in different tunings. As usual for Artist Guitars, the guitar was presented beautifully with just a slight lowering of the action to suit my preference the only setup needed. Build quality, action, finish and comfort of playing are all first class. I will say that initially, I thought the tone and sustain wasn't quite as good as my other two acoustics, ($500 & $200 dearer) but as I said, I bought the Delta2EQ as a customer return. After about 6 weeks, I finally got around to replacing the strings (which were looking a little tired) with my personal favourites and viola! What a difference. It now compares favorably against my other two acoustics in sound, tone and sustain and suits my intended purpose perfectly. On a side note, some advice to anyone considering purchasing a customer return or factory second from Artist Guitars. As I mentioned, I purchased this guitar as a customer return. It was described as having scratches on the side of the neck at the 12th fret and an imperfect logo. Overall condition was described as average to poor. Photos were provided. In reality, the scratches are unnoticeable and the imperfect logo is minutely off centre. Couldn't find any other faults. I have had the same situation with a factory second Uke which supposedly had cosmetic imperfections, which I am yet to find. So anyone considering buying a customer return or factory second, feel confident that you are getting a very pessimistic description from Artist guitars at a very decent saving. Overall, I thoroughly recommend this guitar, especially at the price.

A lovely instrument

I have had my Delta2EQ for almost a week, and I love it! The solid Sitka and Mahogony are already sounding good, and I only expect them to sound even better over time. The small and deep body makes for warm, round sound, and the neck is a joy to play. The action is ever so slightly high, and the intonation is very good. Well done Artist guitars.

The perfect finger style guitar

By: on 18 November 2021
The Artist Delta2EQ gives you more guitar than the asking price could possibly hint. It’s easily the best acoustic guitar I’ve played (bearing in mind tone/frequency range, comfort/size, quality of build, jaw-dropping beauty and the fact that I am a finger style player who appreciates a 44.5mm nut). I can confidently say that the Delta2EQ is the the last acoustic guitar I will ever need to buy - and is probably the first guitar (out of my 10 electrics and acoustics) that I’d choose to save if I could only save one from a fire. The design, build quality, attention to detail and sheer magic are hard to quantify. As to the customer service from Artist… I can’t speak of it highly enough. Today wasn’t a good day - it was a day of magic.

This instrument is incredible value for money. Fit and finish are first rate, sounds fantastic and is as playable as it is pretty. Feels like a guitar twice it’s price tag. Well done Artist Guitars! I’ll certainly be back for more!
