Artist Cherry12 12 String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar w/ Humbucker Pickups

The wait is over! With demand becoming near-overwhelming, fans of our Artist 58DLX can rejoice! The Artist Cherry12 is here! This one has all the first-class appointments unique to the 58DLX range with one simple, notable difference - it's a 12-string! Featuring our famous Bullbucker pickups with push-pull coil splitting, locking tuners, a bone nut, and block inlays, the Cherry12 is a classy, chimey, vintage-styled electric 12-string, upgraded with modern features that offer a diverse tonal palette, and maximum playability for the serious musician and the enthused hobbyist alike!

The gorgeous bound maple neck is topped with a stunning dark ebony fretboard, adorned with classic block inlays. With a 47.5mm bone nut and tune-o-matic bridge, the Cherry12 stays in tune wonderfully, which is of paramount concern when you're trying to keep 12 strings in tune at once!

The Cherry12 sports our Signature Bullbucker individual Coil Splitting pickups, giving warm throaty tones from the neck pickup, and biting, bright clean sounds from the bridge, while setting the switch between the neck and bridge pickups delivers a wonderful, almost out-of-phase sound. The push/pull coil-splitting on both pickups is an extremely useful and versatile addition offering single-coil or humbucker configurations.

Surprised

By: on 28 October 2024
I saw some of the specs and for 1/2 - 1/3 of the price of other 12 strings in the market it seemed too good to be true. So I gave Artist a shot and I'm glad I did. First I'll say the negatives. One or two sharp frets and an unbelievably high action when it arrived, if you don't feel comfortable adjusting the action you WILL have to take it to somebody to have it lowered. I've tried a lot of piezo pickups and this one just isn't good unfortunately. Now that those are out of the way. The things that I like, the feel of the neck, and overall quality is fantastic. Unexpected bone nut that feels sooooo nice. The pickups when they aren't in piezo are albeit quiet but charming. Turn up your amp or daw and the pickups do their job and they do it well. The strings ring out nicely and it goes out of tune about as much as any other guitar I've ever owned. If you want to try a 12 string and don't want to hand over an arm and leg. Give these a go, I'm very happy with it.

Ringiing Red

By: on 21 October 2024
Recently acquired this twelve string and after a minor tuning it was ready to play! Great ation and multiple tones. Another quality Artist guitar added to the collection, which will be played and enjoyed often. Mine came without a pick guard and they are currently advertised with a photo showing it with a pick guard. Doesn't affect the playability of the beast though and I'm happy with my ringing red! Thanks.

Beautiful Guitar

Bought this guitar for clients at work to play when they come into our community space, but it's not left me yet and I have a feeling it's not going to. It's looks amazing, and it feels amazing to play. Absolutely love it.

Cherry Electric 12 string

By: on 10 October 2024
I am very happy with this electric 12 string. It came set up with a good action and I played it live a couple of days later and also recorded with it. I’m delighted with the pickups and tuning pegs. A great guitar

On A Dark Desert Highway... Awesome Value

By: on 4 October 2024
At this price point, with not at all bad sounding humbuckers, pretty noiseless push-pull pots, an ebony fingerboard, locking tuners and a decent kinda build quality and finish... You really can't go wrong!

Love 12-Strings But This One Will Need TLC First

By: on 3 October 2024
I have been enamoured by the quality of Artist Guitars and hence own many different models and have done glowing reviews in the past but this is the first one to let me down. What I am about to mention is minor to me but will stop me using it after just doing a quick setup, for a live gig. It will need some definite time and TLC before I can use it on stage. To start with this Cherry12 Has a buzz on the 6th String at the 5th Fret that will need a fret level especially after I lower the strings height through the nut. When fretting 1st fret notes on the 1st 3 sets of strings their pitch is way out so the nut will need adjusting. The intonation on every string except the fifth set of strings is OK. Something more sinister is that the control knobs are loose and wobble so I can see the two push pull ones coming off in the very near future. I will need to replace them with screwed grip ones. I also noticed the wiring "seemed" to be a bit dodgy as in what controls work with what, so it will need attention. It seems to be around the wrong way - back to front. This guitar is very neck heavy. Not well balanced; as you'd expect with a lot of the weight in the neck and head. Because of all of the above I haven't really got into playing it for long to give it a good try-out but am looking forward to giving it a good whirl once I've fixed it up to be in a "live" playable condition. I may well have gotten a lemon so don't let this review stop you trying one out. The Artist Guitars staff are awesome to deal with and the cost of this guitar is way cheaper than something comparable even after I spend some time on it.
