With a lightning-quick 12-16-inch compound radius maple fingerboard, 22 nickel frets, and a Floyd-Rose tremolo system, the AS88 is a shredder's delight, custom-built for the kind of lead playing that leaves your forehead dripping with sweat. Combining an alder body with our unparalleled Artist Wrangler and Bullbucker pickups, the AS88 sustains for days on end, delivering ultra-smooth Hendrix-y tones in the neck and middle positions, and searing, biting lead tones from the high-output bridge humbucker, topping out at 15.4K!
We've rolled the fingerboard edges on this one, giving the AS88 a truly played-in feel, and ensuring smooth fret ends and slick movement up and down the one-piece, C-shaped maple neck. Every inch of the Artist AS88 has been designed to optimise playability, whether you're tapping, sweeping, or brutalising the ears of the audience with some high-gain, heavy metal chugs and squeals!
