Leo, Leo, Leo!

Let me state straight out of the gate, I purchased a customer return with defects. I got this Bass for a good price to facilitate a project I have in mind and it will do that job very nicely for the price. However, Leo in QA needs to shout the Team some Beers. This thing should not have made it out of the factory. The wiring is all wrong. This thing should have failed on the first test in a QA rig. Pickup pole pieces are beginning to rust which is very disappointing for a unit that is this young! Also, Artist, please change your default Courier. These guys are not helping you and is one of the major reasons the Bargain Bin is so full of damaged returns. This damaged purchase was even more damaged on receipt. Chipped paint work behind the bridge, impacted strap button at the bridge and a chip/scuff on the end of the neck. Having said all that, the neck is well made. Before pulling the guitar apart, the feel is excellent. The action nice and Intonation needing little adjustment which is nice given the hard journey it had to SA. Others mention significant neck dive and I can back this up. Something that could be addressed with a strap button relocation and a heavier bridge. I have two Artist guitars in my stable. A Gold Top LP59 which was resurrected from the wiring grave and a White Grungemaster in Nashville Tuning. I could not be happier with these specimens! I “will” be buying more Artist guitars in future but I think Leo and Couriers Please need some TLC. Matt.

Excellent Value

By: on 13 August 2024
Bass arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The provided tuner is nothing special and the cable and strap should be replaced quickly but as they are “free” I’m not really complaining. The gig bag is just OK but again does the job. The Bass itself is as pictured, basic black, single P-Bass style pickup. From the top down, the tuners are rubbish feeling but work well enough for a bass at this price point, the neck is excellent with no fret sprout or sharp edges, the body is very light weight and results in constant neck dive which is the major complaint I do have with this bass. All controls worked fine and the intonation was only slightly off but easy to adjust. The sound is very good for a short scale bass. For $229 this is excellent value for a beginner or ocassional bass player and better than buying second hand for the same money. Recommended if you are a beginner or a guitarist who wants a cheap Bass to lay down some bass lines.

Fab 3/4 bass

By: on 29 April 2024
This is the fourth instrument I bought from Artist , and again I am blown away by the quality/price ratio. The quality of the finish, the pickup and the tuners is excellent. It played well straight out of the box, with a good action and holds its tuning well, although the intonation needed a bit of tweaking. It is very light, which i love, and after fifty years of playing a full-scale bass, the 3/4 neck is so easy to play! I have arthritis, and this bass helps a lot with making playing less painful. The only issue I have with it is that it neck-dived rather spectacularly, which really surprised me, because it seems like an obvious design flaw that I would have thought would have been fixed in the design process. I moved the tail pin much higher and to the rear of the body, and that helped a lot - it still neck-dives a little, but is much more workable. Thanks again to Artist for delivering great instruments at an unbelievably low price!

Great bass guitar for my son

By: on 4 April 2024
I got this for my 11 year old who struggles using my full size basses. Great quality for the price. Came well setup and was ready to play after a quick tune. The sound is surpisingly good and the passive pick ups give a good, clear sound. Having only two knobs helps keep things simple. The strap is great and the cable and tuner are useable. Highly recommended

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter and I was worried it would be too big and heavy but I was really surprised how light and short it is. It has been perfect for her.

Perfect for beginner bassists

By: on 21 February 2023
Got it in perfect condition, no damages. The amp works great and the bass was already setup for playing. The tuner device works great, only problem I had was the shoulder strap which can get uncomfortable after a couple weeks

Excellence in quality and craftsmanship

The best investment I've made thus far. Much lighter than the full size and less straining on my arms because of the shorter length.
