Artist AP97BB Black Electric Guitar w/ Bullbucker Pickups

The AP97 just got a whole lot classier...

The all-new Artist AP97BB is an immensely light, ultra-playable pro-level instrument, equipped with the finest hardware we've ever produced on a guitar of this style. The AP97BB features our very own Bullbucker humbucking pickups, which include coil-splitting capability to give you ultimate control over your tonal options! These are known for their smooth, 'flute-like' neck tones, and a high-output bridge pickup that drives the front-end of a tube-amp wonderfully, delivering sweet, saturated tones with a rich top-end.

The C-shaped African Mahogany set neck is topped with an ultra-hard, 12" radius eco-rosewood fingerboard. Renowned for its durability and even tonal response by some of Australia's best luthiers, eco-rosewood fingerboards are used across a large majority of our range. The deluxe-spec hardware on the AP97BB includes a brass-saddled tuneomatic bridge, high-grade gold locking tuners, and a 43mm bone nut.

The AP97BB comes strung from the factory with D'Addario EXL110 strings.

Golden Elegance: The Black and Gold AP97BB

By: on 10 November 2024
Disclaimer: I'm no shredding guitar hero, but I've bought four guitars from Artist and have been extremely happy with all of them. However, this guitar takes that enjoyment to the next level.......... First Impressions: Straight out of the box, the quality of the guitar was immediately evident great to hold and gorgeous to look at. After a quick tune, I plugged it directly into a Vox 15W practice amp, and it sounded awesome the tones it has would put more expensive guitars to shame. When I connected it into an Xtone interface and played through an iPad app with studio monitors, the sound was absolutely amazing......... Build and Playability: I'm not sure what hardware they used, but it feels really high quality. This guitar is not only easy to play but also super comfortable to play. Having just sold a Maton electric to fund this purchase, I was initially sceptical. The Maton is a really good guitar that I was happy with, but this one is better and a lot more affordable. The AP97BB is light, looks great, sounds fantastic, and plays like a dream. Whether you like rock, blues, or jazz, this guitar will not disappoint.......... Conclusion: If you need an electric guitar, this is the answer. For the price, it's a great return on investment. PS: Get the Brown Case—it looks incredible when paired with the black guitar.

Absolute Gold

I fell in love with this guitar the moment I saw it on the site. The Black and Gold finish is just so lovely (only beaten by Alpine White). I am so glad to say that it lives up to that in the flesh. The gold just pops out on the black body. The Artist brand etched into the gold pickups is a great touch as well. The neck feels nice to play on with well trimmed frets. I'm thinking of lowering the action a bit, but it is perfectly playable out of the box. There are some nice sounds to be found in this guitar. The neck pickup has a nice warmth to it that I quite like. The bridge could be a bit more sparkly for my own taste, but works fine for rock tones where I do like some darkness. I also plan to play around with pickup height/action so I might be able to get a bit more brightness out of it yet. Very happy with this guitar.
