Artist Falcon Deluxe Electric Guitar Surf Green with Vintage Trem

The Artist Falcon is a short-scale surf dream, with vintage appointments this one is for those looking for something a little different whilst still maintaining classic design features.

With a solid Poplar body, the Falcon features a Surf Green finish. With a nod to other vintage-style short-scales, this double-cutaway body is small and lightweight, with a simple bolt-on Maple neck, 22 Medium Frets and an Eco-Rosewood Fretboard. Being a short-scale guitar, the Falcon has a 42.8mm Bone nut and a 9.5" fingerboard radius, with a 24” Scale Length. You can use standard length strings for this guitar, and experimenting with different gauges can yield some awesome results with bends and the trem bar!

True to form, the Falcon also features a vintage-style Chrome bridge and tremolo combo, with Chrome machine heads also. The covered black single-coils set against the Pearloid pickguard add to the classic looks, with the simple Volume and Tone controls layout making this a very easy guitar to play.

This stylish little number really calls out to be picked up and strummed!

The Artist Falcon comes factory-strung with D'Addario 10-46 gauge strings

This is a awesome guitar and i wish to add to my first review. I can not stop choosing this guitar, no matter what style. This is must have for any guitar player and beginners. For Beginners, stay on the 10-46 gauge strings until you are familiar with adjusting tremolos and actions and you will have no problems. I have locked my tremlo by making a custom taper block to stop the bridge from moving,, this allows for different string gauge sizes without adjust the tremolo tension.. Ideally it should have solid fixed bridge for beginners. Please expand the Falcon's options to appeal to experienced players who likely to want humbucker or p90 pickups. The 24" scale is so cool and i have used 9 to 42 gauge strings and where notes can be bent into tomorrow. 11 to 52 guage strings close to emulate the SRV sound... But this truly a inspiring guitar, all players should have one.. I hope to purchase another in the future and do some custom mods as the core build is worth every dollar.

Good delivery service, The Falcon is an excellent guitar, it now my favorite , first to go to, and lots of fun to play, good tones. I had a mustang as my first guitar when I was 12, and traded for a strat, but always miss that short scale. now 40 years later, it was like fitting an old shoe or glove. Absolutely love it, I will never part with this Falcon,, only with they come with P90s but not essential and only a personal preference.. Only need small adjustment for the tremlo and action,,etc,, but that is for my style. Great build quality for price. A beginner will find this easy to lay and and an experienced player will easy adjust for high level performances, Honestly Artist guitars are my "goto brand now". The "core" build is solid and good and ideal for after market mods and custom works. I also have a Grungemaster and it rocks

Fantastic first guitar

I bought this guitar for my daughter, who had been using a borrowed guitar for 4 months. She loves it. It played pretty good out of the box. Action was nice and the short scale suits her hands. Intonation was almost spot on. I think only bottom E and B needed very slight adjustments and then everything was spot on. Pickups are fine for the price point. Only thing I need to do for her is put on a better set of strings. Fantastic job Artist Guitars

Amazing at any price

This guitar offers the true short scale experience for anyone curious about a Mustang style guitar. The neck pickup in particular is a real gem. Fit and finish all exceptional at any price range, let alone the asking price here. Lightweight and super fun to play. Don’t hesitate!

A must-have for all big "F" fans

My second review on this guitar after one month of playing. Replaced the supplied strings with a new set of D'Addario 10 to 46 and now very pleased with the way it sounds and feels. I have many Strat and Tele style guitars and find I am reaching for the Falcon almost exclusively. This guitar has it's own very versatile set of sounds, based on pick-up selection of course but also depending a lot on where the string is struck. For example, for a great surf sound which is simply not available on a Strat or Tele, have the pick-up switch in the middle position (both pick-ups on), and using a pick in the gap between the bridge pick-up and the bridge try some melody or riffing on the lower wound strings... amazing. Also, I love the lower tension short scale (24in) with 10 to 46 strings. A delight to play.

Artist Falcon Surf Green

By: on 15 December 2023
I have to say, I am a little shocked at how good this guitar is. I’m a professional guitarist in South Australia. The build is brilliant, tuners are solid, it stays in tune, and the neck profile is excellent. The maple even has Birds Eye figuring on the back. The standout is the pickups. I teach guitar 6 days a week and see a lot of cheaper guitars with my students. The pickups are nearly always lacking in low end models. It’s clear Artist Guitars have put thought into this aspect. This falcon has depth and clarity and can excel at clean tones or overdriven/ distorted. Happy to say the pickups can stay. I just can’t believe how they are doing this at the price. It’s better than a beginners guitar but would be amazing as a first guitar. It also could be used professionally. The only thing it needed was a basic general setup and some fret polishing. It has to be a 5/5 for this. Well done

Extraordinary!

This guitar required just a basic preference set-up. Frets are all level even with a low action setting. Very well made and finished with solid feeling components. Pickups sound good enough to keep. This is my first short scale guitar and using 10 - 46 strings, it's almost as light to bend as 9 - 42 but with the advantage of the extra "beef" afforded by the heavier set. Love it! Artist, you never fail to please, thank you for another winner. Rick.

Amazed

I own around 17 guitars across a wide range of prices, and this is the guitar I'm now playing the most. The only tiny niggles were that the fret tops weren't very polished, but a few hours of playing got rid of any grittiness. Maybe some very slight fret levelling issues, but the fret ends etc were perfect. The intonation needed a slight adjustment and the floating bridge needed to be decked in order to hold tune well, but once I decked it and added 2 extra springs it's now one of my favourite tremolo bridges. The guitar now holds tune perfectly and is incredibly easy to play. I was assuming I'd need to replace the pickups, but they are incredibly clear and I don't think I'll be swapping any parts on this. I'll probably buy a 2nd to do mods on.

Another little gem at great value

I needed a single-coil guitar, I needed a short-scale guitar, and I was keen to have one with a tremolo system, too... When I saw how cute this thing looked, I knew I another purchase from Artist was imminent. The guitar doesn't dissapoint. Quick and painless delivery, as usual. It played well straight out of the box, with a silky neck, perfect intonation and a supremely playable set up. Nice chimy sound, stays in tune, lightweight, and a pleasure both for strumming or for lead work that needs to cut through a mix... At this price, it's another absolute steal.

Even better than I'd hoped for!

By: on 6 March 2023
I've added the Falcon to my Artist guitars collection. It's great. The finish was flawless and I only did a minimal setup. Fine intonation, lowered bridge, and nut slots. It was basically playable straight out of the box. It sounds bright but full toned. Just right for Rock, Blues, and lead in the contemporary Church Band I play in. Those little single coils are better than I thought they'd be and the Volume and Tone control pot tapers are linear over the full range. This is not always the case with many electrics. Luverly! Very happy. Couldn't recommend it more especially for the price. Great job and service Artist!!

The Falcon, reviewed by Greybeard.

By: on 21 February 2023
Over the last couple of years, I seem to have accumulated a small collection of Artist guitars. Bang for buck, they are a very good instrument, as a beginner or an intermediate semi pro player. The Falcon arrived today Tuesday Feb 21., I spent about an hour getting acquainted with it and settling the final setup. Then spent an hour plugged into my small 5W valve amp to really have a go. Some jazz, some blues, even a bit of less than perfect shredding. Fit and finish appear to be perfect, love the fully floating 2 point tremolo system, switch feels solid and reliable, tone control runs the full spectrum well, volume seems to not respond until 50% up, but, hey, soft is soft and loud is always better, right? All in all, for the price, this is a sparkling sounding and very good instrument. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone considering a second stage gigger or to a parent looking for a child's first electric guitar.
