Product Description

Artist ACJ48R Cajon 48cm Wooden Rhythm Box Snare Wire - Raw

The word Cajon means crate or box or drawer. It's a wooden box which is played as a drum.

The Artist Cajon has a thin layer of birch plywood on one side and thicker wood to the sides and top. The back of the Cajon has a soundhole, and simply beating on different parts of the front surface will give different sounds. Pressed against the inside surface of the thin birch layer is a bunch of percussive rattles making the Cajon sound like a snare drum, depending on where you hit the surface.

A deeper bass drum sound can be achieved from hitting the middle of the playing surface and higher toned sound can be achieved by hitting the box closer to the top. You can play the Cajon in a similar way as one would a bass drum and snare or toms.

This makes the Cajon a very versatile and easily transportable instrument.

**Includes a padded carry bag with backpack straps - perfect for busking.

Good finish and bag, not as good a sound as i thought it would be, needs snare strap instead of wire.
